Magnum Nitro Express
This
was originally a black powder cartridge dating back to 1880 or even earlier
and it was listed in the Kynoch catalogue of 1884 as the 450 reduced to
400. During the 1890's it evolved as a smokeless cartridge and was used
in falling block single shot rifles as well as a number of double rifles.
